The only way to open the lock is to use a super magnet to pull the central core back and release the ball bearings. The required force and consequently the magnet strength needed is designed based on the spring behind the central core.

The final and main section of the tag that is detectable by the antenna is the central inductor of the tag. The primary characteristic of this section is the natural frequency of the inductor. The natural frequency of this inductor is 8.2 MHz. This component consists of an inductor and a capacitor. The inductors in different tags only vary in size and shape, while the natural frequency of all tags remains the same.
