Installation in five stages

A clean install is the difference between a gate that earns its keep and one that becomes background furniture. The work breaks naturally into five stages.

1. Site survey

Measure entrance width, ceiling height and proximity to metal shutters. Use a spectrum analyser to detect background RF or AM noise — this single step prevents 80% of post-install false alarms.

2. Mounting

Drill into concrete or solid tile, never into floating laminate. Antennas must sit perfectly vertical; even a 2 degree tilt narrows detection.

3. Cabling

Use shielded twisted pair from controller to antenna. Keep cable runs under 5 m and away from mains parallel runs.

4. Configuration

• Set initial sensitivity to 70%.
• Test with five known live tags from different angles.
• Confirm deactivator pad distance from antenna exceeds 3 m.

5. Staff handover
